Job Description
DVS is looking for a Windows/ISS Administrator to join our team. The work location will be Fort Huachuca, AZ. This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. This position will support the RCC-CONUS, which provides cutting-edge technology in an enterprise-level environment.
We are looking for a Windows, IIS, and SQL Server administrator who will be responsible for managing our server farm and deploying our web solutions. This position will provide technical guidance and support in the areas of applications architecture, systems integration, and Internet/Intranet deployment for various .NET applications. Additionally, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team. A motivated self-starter is preferred. This is an On-site Office Setting position.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Proactively ensure system stability and performance. Monitor application pools, database instances, database jobs, system and application logs, and system performance metrics. Respond to critical events in a timely manner to ensure optimum availability and security posture.
- Support team members by deploying code and database changes to test and production environments and assist in troubleshooting.
- Design, document, and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor applicable IAVMs and coordinate patching of IIS and SQL servers.
- Implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Update PowerShell STIG check scripts whenever STIGs change.
- Create high-availability and load balancing solutions for mission-critical applications.
- Develop and maintain documentation to include security checklists and deployment processes.
- Perform routine backups of code, logs, and data repositories. Perform routine maintenance on databases. Automate backup procedures.
- Renew and maintain server certificates and other third-party services.
- Support functional testing of .NET and SharePoint web sites and provide detailed feedback to developers.
- Help monitor trouble tickets to ensure issues are being received and completed in a timely manner meeting Service Level Targets. Resolve and escalate tickets in accordance with documented procedures.
- Serve as the primary POC for security inspections.
- Serve in the team on-call rotation.
- Automate repetitive tasks with PowerShell/Batch scripts.
Minimum Requirements
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification required at start date.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. An interim secret or higher is required prior to start.
- HS and 2+ years of experience with Windows Server Operating Systems, or similar system environments.
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft IIS or similar web system environments.
- Posess or ability to acquire one position related technical certification within 180 days of hire
Skills/Applications:
- Experience in web infrastructure design and operations including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, load balancing, clustering, firewall rules, failover, monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tuning, etc.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012 to latest
- Possess high aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Must be a strong team player but also able to work independently with little supervision
- Maintain a professional demeanor with our military, civilian, and contractor customers
