Azure NetOps Engineer (Network Operations)
Remote Contract

Long-term, multi-year engagement

Description:
  • Experience in designing and implementing secure and scalable Azure network architectures using Azure services, with a particular emphasis on Private DNS, App Gateway, Load Balancers, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and APIM.
  • Configure and manage ExpressRoute connections to ensure high availability (HA) and performance for on-premises and cloud resources.
  • Develop and maintain Hub-Spoke network models to optimize traffic flow and resource management across multiple Azure subscriptions.
  • Implement and manage BGP configurations for dynamic route exchange and redundancy within Azure networking.
  • Create and maintain User-Defined Routes (UDR) to control network traffic and improve security posture.
  • Utilize Bicep to automate the deployment of Azure resources, leveraging Azure Verified Modules (AVM) to ensure best practices and standardization in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) implementations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of incidents.
  • Team player who collaborates with cross-functional teams to support technical solutions and integrate networking solutions with application deployments and cloud services.
  • Stay current with Azure networking best practices and emerging technologies to enhance the overall network infrastructure.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance efforts.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding Azure networking solutions and/or troubleshooting issues.

Required Skills:
  • Candidates must possess at least Seven (7) years professional experience or more.
  • BS degree, or higher
  • Experience providing Azure network design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • On-premise network engineering abilities
  • Hybrid Cloud network solution design
  • Candidates MUST hold an active Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (or higher)
    • NOTE: Candidates that DO NOT possess the above listed certification may provide:
      • Written commitment to earn the above listed certification within 3 months (90 days) of joining this program.
        • Failure to meet the above listed requirement within the requested timeframe may result in release and/or replacement.
  • Candidates MUST be able to attain, or already possess, an active Federal Public Trust security clearance certification.





Preferred Skills:
  • Other networking experience in data centers and the cloud, related certifications, and skills
  • Other Azure certifications of interest not limited to:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate.
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
  • Other cloud certifications (e.g., AWS and Google Cloud Platform) may be of interest but are NOT required.
  • Azure DevOps (AzDO) skills and experience.
  • DSO knowledge and experience.
  • Experience utilizing Azure Verified Modules AVM).
  • Experience setting, managing, and meeting expectations as a Leader accountable for themselves plus their team/s performance.
  • Experience communicating with and reporting to Client Directors, Vice Presidents, and C-level executives in the customer organization.
  • Experience guiding and facilitating a combination of both business and engineering stakeholders through a technical decision.
  • Experienced designing, developing, and/or implementing multi-hybrid cloud solutions using automation tools and technologies is of interest.
  • Experience with cloud native security tools and security compliance
  • Experience leading technical teams of five or more individuals.
  • Experience being the technical/engineering lead while also managing and holding other technical/engineering members of the team accountable.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Agile Sprints and/or Kanban techniques for organizing and facilitating work, and reporting progress on cadence.
  • Experience with IT service management ( ITSM) best practices (e.g., ITILv3, or newer).
  • Experience with API integration with ServiceNow Event Management.
  • Networking experience designing, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting is also of interest.
