Coeur is seeking a Project Manager to support the Vice President, Engineering & Projects for all project management functions for assigned critical business projects or in support of or leading a portfolio of small to moderately sized projects. This position serves as the project engineering and management representative to ensure the Project Team s success and to drive Coeur s strategic direction to achieve excellence in project management. This position requires a detailed understanding of project engineering and management principles and practices.

*Please note, this is a remote based position in the United States, but there is an expectation of 50% + travel to Juneau, Alaska within the first 2-3 years in the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Vice President, Engineering & Projects in overall project engineering, construction, safety oversight, management and controls systems implementation in the development, tracking, forecasting, analysis, day-to-day management and reporting of project execution, risks, safety, costs, schedules, and key performance indicators and dashboard on assigned projects.
  • Supports the Vice President, Engineering & Projects and site operations and support leadership in the preparation of daily plan of the day, weekly, and monthly progress updates, and Steering Committee and Board presentation materials applicable to project scope, progress, status, change management, contingency and risk management, and issues communication and resolution.
  • Directs and supervises assigned third-party contractors in the execution of their assigned scopes of work and development of weekly and monthly reports, project cost and schedule updates, and safety and risk monitoring and tracking.
  • Supports on assigned projects and studies the Vice President, Engineering & Projects and site operations and support leadership the development of baseline scope, cost, schedule, risk profile, AFE, and periodic auditing as required to implement and comply with required corporate governance policies and procedures.
  • Leads and directs administration of the Project Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Controls Process on assigned projects and studies to provide guidance, direction, recommendations, and specialized expertise for the resolution of complex project control problems and contractual courses of action.
  • Coordinates and provides analysis on project execution, costs, commitments, accruals, trends, and changes, and drives corrective action to the Project Team where necessary.
  • Manage the implementation of financial and project controls Document Management procedures and documentation for the Project and Study Teams.
  • Supports the Contracts and Procurement systems including review and validation of Contract Administration invoicing, review of purchase order and subcontract agreements, subcontractor payment distributions, and project accounts payables.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor s Degree (accredited) in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar area of study and approximately ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
  • Civil project engineering and construction execution experience in a mining environment including tailings dams, earthworks, roads, diversion structures, liners, erosion control is required
  • Industrial plant engineering and construction execution experience in a mining environment including process plant mechanical, structural, and piping will be well regarded
  • Strong PC skills to include Microsoft suite, and understanding of cost & schedule management systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively with limited supervision
  • Previous experience in a mining or industrial project environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and interface skills with site management, operations and maintenance personnel and corporate leadership
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding/knowledge of project front-end loading, execution and controls processes
