RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a JR Developer with a passion for programing. You will work in the Saint Louis, MO office on a hybrid schedule (4 days in office 1 day remote).
About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and adaptable Junior Developer to join one of our growing development teams - specializing in Nifi, Java (Spring Boot, Docker), or Spark/Scala. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career and work on modern technologies while learning from seasoned professionals.
Whether you bring experience in Java, Python, or Scala, we believe strong programming fundamentals can translate across teams. You will be mentored by experienced leads, and depending on your fit and growth, you'll become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a specific area.
Key Tasks:
* Join daily status calls with offshore teams (starting at 8:00 AM)
* Work on development tasks in agile, spring, or waterfall project models
* Assist with production support and operational activities as needed
* Investigate and resolve production issues, becoming the go-to person for a domain
* Collaborate closely with team leads to identify and prioritize tasks
* Learn and grow into technologies like Nifi, Spark/Scala, Spring Boot, AWS, and more
* Enjoy the structure and guidance of a support team - no on-call responsibilities expected
REQUIREMENTS:
* 0-3 years of hands-on programming experience in Java, Python, or Scala
* A self-starter attitude with flexibility to pivot as priorities shift
* A strong desire to learn and grow into new technologies
* Effective communicator and team player
Nice to Have (or Learn Here!):
* Exposure to Spring Boot, Docker, or Nifi
* Interest in data engineering or big data processing tools like Spark
* Familiarity with cloud technologies, especially AWS
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
