Senior Java Developer - AWS 

Local to NY/NJ/PA ONLY

The Senior Java Developer is responsible for writing and testing enterprise-level code in Java environment. This role requires strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities as well as the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and learn new skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Migrate code from Java 8 to Java 17 and be able to put it into AWS following departmental standards
  • Review and validate the requirements and functional specifications
  • Work closely with BAs to understand requirements
  • Participate in regular meetings and speak to their processes

Required Skills and Personal Qualifications

  • Must have proficiency in the following:
    • Java
    • Spring Boot
    • SQL
    • Database design
    • Containerization
    • AWS ECS
    • AWS SDK
    • GitHub
  • Functional programming experience in AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, AWS S3, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Cloud Watch Logs, AWS Cloud Formation
  • IAC (infrastructure as a code)
  • Experience in creating highly available and scalable applications in AWS
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical peers; capable to manage business and technical team expectations
  • Experience developing Microservices
  • Experience with SOAP and REST integration
  • High level of organizational, written, and oral communication skills
