#Manufacturing Process Engineer

Position Summary:
This role supports activities related to process development, troubleshooting, repair, and rework planning within the manufacturing engineering function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support efficient production, repair, and refurbishment of both new and legacy components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to drive process improvements and implement technologies that increase stability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as 2D technical drawings, part definitions, and process-related records.
  • Generate or modify 3D models, tolerance stack-up analyses, gear and heat treatment calculations, and address customer-specific order requirements (e.g., FPA, DVE, VSE).
  • Provide engineering support across the production floor, supplier base, and quality-related activities (MRB, quality clinics, etc.).
  • Review and authorize engineering change requests (ECRs, ECNs, DARs, etc.) in an efficient manner.
  • Contribute to optimizing manufacturing by reviewing processes, CNC programming inputs, and tooling design.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on issues related to product conformity, tooling changes, schedule adjustments, and corrective measures.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to production teams when repair or rework is necessary.
  • Ensure engineering data and documentation are complete, consistent, and accurately maintained.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
    (Note: equivalent experience typically 5+ years may substitute for formal education.)
  • Proficient in reading and creating engineering drawings, including GD&T practices.
  • Solid background in manufacturing process design, assembly techniques, and workflow optimization.
  • Working knowledge of gear and spline design (spur, helical, bevel) and related terminology.
  • Familiarity with CAD platforms, ERP tools, and standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive mindset.
  • Skilled in technical communication and cross-team collaboration.
  • Competent in Lean practices and Six Sigma principles.
