Position Summary

Scientific Games LLC is looking for a self-motivated, highly experienced Tableau Architect. The candidate will be responsible for tasks such as enforcing best practices and executing procedures for deploying and maintaining Tableau instances, day-to-day operational activities, capacity management, replication setup/management and ongoing database change reviews. The team manages and maintains large-scale and very high transaction Tableau installations working with SQL Server databases on Windows Server platforms. You will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.

Responsibilities
  • Execute daily procedures and checks to ensure stability of the production BI environment.
  • Collaborate with business and technical resources to create technical specifications from functional requirements.
  • Work with test teams to deliver quality BI solutions.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and administer Tableau applications.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Tableau installations.
  • Perform application upgrades, apply patches, and maintain the Tableau environments.
  • Perform audits for system maintenance and security, identifying and implementing areas of improvement.
  • Manage Tableau licenses for all environments.
  • Create BI content - semantic models, reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Migrate content between environments.
  • Experience administering development and production environments across verticals, including sizing and capacity scoping.
  • Generate Root Cause Analysis as required in support cases.
  • 24x7 Support of production Tableau environments.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:
  • 3+ years' experience administering Tableau.
  • Experience in administering and configuring multi-tenant Tableau installations.
  • Understanding of Tableau's underlying architecture.
  • Good understanding of security structures and the implementation of.
  • Ability to add customizations and integrate with other applications.
  • Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.
  • Experience designing reports, dashboards, and semantic layers.
  • Strong SQL and data warehousing skills and dimensional modeling concepts. MS SQL Server preferred.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot BI environment related issues.
  • Proven ability to design BI solutions to reports against large volumes of data and experience tuning reports and queries.
  • Knowledge of load balancing, failover and disaster recovery for BI implementations is a plus.
  • Proven experience reporting against industry standard database platforms including Microsoft SQL server, Oracle, Teradata etc.
  • Monitoring and alerting solutions
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and working knowledge of common protocols such as SFTP, SMTP, DNS, and HTTP/S
  • Able to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Pro-active, dedicated, committed and responsible.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired:

It would also be advantageous if you had any of the following knowledge and experience:

  • BI platforms including SAP Business Objects or Power BI.
  • Code versioning tools such as git/GitLab
  • Windows Server Administration
  • Scripting - PowerShell, Python, and shell scripting are all good
  • Zabbix
  • Industry experience - either in iLottery or iGaming.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences with 3+ years working with Tableau.
  • Tableau certifications are a plus.
