Position Title: AWS Cloud Systems Developer

Location: Remote, must be local to the Washington, DC area

Position Overview:

Indev is seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Systems Developer to support a federal project within the Department of Transportation. You will play a pivotal role with the design, development, and maintenance of the PHMSA Vulnerability Tracker application, all while embracing the Agile mindset to foster innovation and rapid adaptation. As a technical architect, the AWS Cloud Software Developer will engage in all phases of the project lifecycle, including architecture, research, and evaluation of AWS technologies.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based solutions in AWS.
  • Participate in design meetings and assist in the evaluation of AWS cloud-related technologies.
  • Architect cloud solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze technical requirements.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud-based applications and services.
  • Ensure secure management of data and compliance with government regulations, including integration with AWS Cognito, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and ADFS for access control.
  • Support infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Work with AWS core resources such as VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFront, and API Gateway.
  • Develop and maintain APIs within AWS, leveraging tools like API Transit Gateway.
  • Support Agile methodologies and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), including Jenkins, GitHub, and Jira.
  • Provide ongoing production and maintenance support for AWS-based applications.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 7+ years technical experience in architecture/design.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience using Oracle ADF and design, development and deployment of ADF applications.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Angular framework with OpenID Connect protocol.
  • 8+ years of experience programming/developing rich client web applications using J2EE specs including Java, JSF, EJB, Oracle ADF Framework.
  • Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and Orchestration.
  • Experience in AWS implementation to include core AWS resources (VPC, EC2, S3 etc.) and advanced AWS resources (lambda, cloud front).
  • Experience in setting up AWS Cognito Identity and Access management tool and ADFS and providing access to integrate applications via API Gateway.
  • Strong CLI and API technology use experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python, YAML or JSON).
  • Knowledge and experience in building APIs within AWS and API Transit Gateway.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools. Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment tools and processes using Jenkins, GitHub and Jira tools.
  • Familiarity with MicroServices architecture, working experience.
  • Strong experience with Oracle SQL, distributed technologies, Frameworks and Application servers.
  • Experience with all phases of a project lifecycle development process (analysis, design, code, test, migrate).
  • Ability to provide production and maintenance support and prior government consulting experience.
  • Experience with Docker, Chef/Puppet, Selenium and Atlassian tool suite.

Nice to have s:

  • Experience working within a Federal environment, preferably with PHMSA or similar agencies.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification.

Candidates will be required to pass a government background investigation.
