We are currently seeking talented individuals for a Supply Chain Technical Coordinator 2 position at the Rocket Center, WV location just outside of Cumberland MD. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops, and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. For decades, the dedicated and highly skilled team at ABL have supported national security efforts by developing and building defense systems for DoD customers and U.S. allies.

Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Known for its scenic mountain landscapes, rolling hills and state parks, the region offers a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities to include hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hunting and whitewater rafting. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems designs, builds, and delivers space, defense, and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems, and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
  • Primarily responsible for outbound shipments and documentation of material.
  • Oversee the packaging and shipment requests from production. Verify material is identified properly and counts are correct.
  • Work with Receiving to ensure material shipping with RMA's has been removed from the ERP system.
  • Maintain shipping records per company documentation retention policies.
  • Process small package shipments via UPS & Fedex.
  • Schedule LTL & GBL shipments.
  • Assist with internal shipping inquiries - obtain quotes & shipment lead times.
  • Contact carriers to schedule pickups to meet delivery schedule.
  • May be cross-trained and perform in other areas of Supply Chain.
  • Ensure company shipping practices, procedures, and requirements are followed.
  • Assist with and provide input to the development and implementation of shipping procedures and best practices.
  • Will operate passenger vehicles to transport materials on company property and will be in close proximity to energetic material.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 years of relevant work experience OR a 2 year degree with 1 year of experience
  • Extensive working knowledge in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organization and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. (Both written and verbal)
  • Security Clearance may be required
  • Excellent attendance record with ability to work flexible hours and able to meet overtime requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, College degree preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years in shipping, logistics or other related field.
  • Prior TMS experience
Salary Range: $39,500 - $65,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
