Security represents the most critical priorities for our customers in a world awash in digital threats, regulatory scrutiny, and estate complexity. Microsoft Security aspires to make the world a safer place for all. We want to reshape security and empower every user, customer, and developer with a security cloud that protects them with end-to-end, simplified solutions. The Microsoft Security organization accelerates Microsoft's mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in our customers' heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate.
Are you an accomplished engineer with a proven track record in leading high-scale engineering teams and tackling critical security challenges in today's digital world? Microsoft Security is seeking a dynamic Principal Software Engineer to lead a key subsystem in a groundbreaking project to develop a scalable, high-performance data platform for security data. In this role, you will drive the technical strategy and feature development end-to-end, managing a talented team of engineers while collaborating with multiple partner teams to achieve exceptional results. Within Microsoft Security Platform, our mission is to create a safer digital world by developing an end-to-end security cloud that simplifies and strengthens our customers' security postures. In an era of increasing threats, regulatory demands, and complex digital estates, organizations need robust solutions to manage and secure vast amounts of data across on-premises, multi-cloud, and SaaS environments. We are building an exabyte-scale data platform to help enterprises: Inventory and map their entire digital estate: From devices and users to permissions, data systems, and virtual machines, we enable organizations to discover and gain visibility into every asset. Integrate and normalize data: By pre-integrating security data from various sources and standardizing it, we empower customers to manage security logs more efficiently and affordably. Answer critical security and governance questions: We provide insights and control over security landscapes, leveraging advanced AI and machine learning algorithms to detect patterns, uncover threats, and make informed decisions in real-time. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of a critical subsystem within this high-scale data platform. You will manage and mentor a team of engineers, drive technical strategy, and work closely with product management, security experts, and other engineering teams to ensure alignment of requirements and successful delivery. Your role will encompass both technical and managerial responsibilities, ensuring your team's work meets the highest standards of scalability, security, and performance.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
