SUMMARY:
As our Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be creating hardware for use in space applications (geosynchronous orbit, low earth orbit, and deep space) as well as aircraft and defense programs. Must be a self-starter & team player who can take ownership of a project from design to deployment under a rapid pace
MUST HAVES:
- Chip and wire
- Electronic Packaging
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ownership of the complete product lifecycle of space hardware from initial design concept to production & unit delivery.
- Perform mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments
- Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience with CAD and FEA software packages, preferably SOLIDWORKS
- Solid knowledge of GD&T
- 3+ years of industry experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and/or manufacturing.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics/microwave packaging for space applications.
- Knowledge of high mix, low volume manufacturing methods, i.e. CNC manufacturing.
- Previous ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and production.
- Rapid prototyping & design iteration.
