Job Title: Product Validation Engineer

Location: Remote

Contract: 12 months

Job Description

The position of Validation Engineer for John Deere is focused on supporting customers in the high-value crop production sector. The role involves working directly with customers to ensure that technology solutions improve productivity and profitability, while identifying areas for improvement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Customer Engagement: Understanding customer needs, documenting feedback, and enabling solutions to be adopted for quick customer feedback.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teams such as product managers, engineers, UX designers, field testers, and business experts within John Deere to create cohesive solutions.
  • Travel: Frequent travel (including to the western U.S. and potential international locations) to meet customers onsite, gather feedback, and act as a liaison between customers and the internal teams.
  • Field Testing: Installing hardware and software on John Deere equipment for testing in the field.
  • Building Relationships: Establishing trust and rapport with customers, keeping dealers informed, and creating a reference list of high-value customers.
  • Documentation: Thoroughly documenting what works and what doesn t for each customer, tracking progress, and relaying valuable insights back to the teams.

Key Skills & Qualities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with John Deere systems such as Gen4/G5, MTGs, Starfire, and web/mobile technologies related to John Deere Operations Center.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to break down complex problems and solve them effectively, using clear communication with teams.
  • Organizational & Relationship Skills: Being organized, focused, and able to build strong relationships with customers, product managers, and internal teams.
  • Communication: Regular and transparent communication with customers, internal teams, and dealers, using various channels like calls, video meetings, and surveys.
