Role: Data Lake Architect / Engineer

Location: Remote

We are seeking a Data Lake Architect with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to design and implement a secure, high-performance data lake tailored for retail operations. This role focuses on data ingestion, transformation, governance, and visualization, ensuring scalable solutions that meet compliance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Design: Build and implement a multi-layered data lake (Bronze, Silver, Gold) on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Data Ingestion: Integrate data from retail systems (Shopify, Aptos MERCH, Aptos CRM, Aptos SALES AUDIT, Aptos WMS) using DataFlow, Cloud Functions, and other Google Cloud Platform tools.
  • Data Transformation: Develop ETL/ELT pipelines for data cleaning, enrichment, and curation.
  • Data Governance: Establish frameworks for security, metadata management, lineage tracking, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Monitoring & Cost Optimization: Use Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and billing tools to ensure performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Visualization: Enable actionable insights through seamless integration with Power BI and BigQuery.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers and stakeholders to align solutions with business goals.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 8+ years in data architecture, including 3+ years on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Cloud Storage (GCS), DataFlow, Cloud Functions, Cloud IAM, Data Catalog, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL, and scripting (Python, Java).
  • Experience integrating Power BI for data visualization.
