Job Type: 12-Month Contract (Remote)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Data Analyst with a strong background in banking and regulatory reporting to join our team on a 12-month remote contract. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data management, data governance, and regulatory compliance within the financial sector. This role requires excellent analytical skills, proficiency in SQL, and strong communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Conduct data mapping, data quality assessments, data profiling, and validation activities.
  • Ensure data integrity and governance while working with large datasets from various banking platforms.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to support data warehouse initiatives.
  • Analyze banking and financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and compliance risks.
  • Document data lineage, business rules, and metadata to support regulatory reporting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve data accuracy and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including Basel, IFRS, and other financial regulations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10-15+ years of overall experience in data analysis, business analysis, or data management roles.
  • 5+ years of experience in banking and regulatory reporting data domains.
  • Strong expertise in data mapping, data profiling, data governance, and data quality management.
  • Proficiency in SQL with experience in writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Knowledge of banking processes, financial products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
