Note: 2+ years experience with IBM WebSphere Commerce is a MUST.
Java Backend Developer (WebSphere Commerce)
- 8+ years of experience in Java backend development, with at least 2+ years of experience working with IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS)
- Proficiency in Core Java (JDK 8 and above), J2EE technologies (e.g., Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, JMS), and related frameworks such as Spring.
- Experience with WCS customization, including backend services, data beans, business objects, and integrations within the WCS platform.
- Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., DB2, Oracle).
- Experience in integrating WebSphere Commerce with third-party systems using REST/SOAP web services and other integration protocols.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and optimizing the backend for scalability and high traffic.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience with development tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, and JIRA.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on backend troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or Ansible for continuous integration and deployment.
- The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50 to $80/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location and industry.
