Welcome to DAS Technology Group; we are specialized recruiters for the RF/Microwave & Defense/Space Industry. We are working on behalf of our client who designs and deploys cutting edge Smart Sensing Radar products for a wide variety of exciting commercial and military applications.

We are seeking a Senior Radar Software Engineer to work with our field team and customers to deliver unique portable radar systems for safety and security purposes. Radars are a complex sensor requiring knowledge of signal processing, algorithms, data analysis, RF systems, and more. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience with radar software and systems as well as demonstrated ability to work successfully field systems and solutions. This engineer will be part of a growing, innovative product development team reporting to the Vice President of Intelligent Systems in our Boston Area location.

Responsibilities:
  • Field applications engineer working between R&D/Product Development team, our technical customers solutions field team and sophisticated customers.
  • Support our Customer solutions team with installations and demonstrations with portable radar systems.
  • Apply radar software knowledge to tune customer system configurations for optimum operation in customer specific environments.
  • Understand customer expectations and requirements for their use cases and what s most important to them.
  • Document improvements and next generation features to consistently deliver world beating products.
  • Strong technical writing abilities, including customer specifications, user guides, and the like.
  • Participate in team efforts that include system design, and hardware/software/firmware design and implementations as a subject matter expert with a core focus around real-time radar software. This role is both customer-facing as well as one that is embedded in the design team.
  • Work closely with technical sales & marketing to prioritize, plan for, and deliver customer success when they use our products.
Skills:
  • Experience in developing software for RF/Radar systems. Must thoroughly understand and have experience in complex real-time embedded software development and operation in real world environments.
  • Demonstrated radar or RF software debugging skills using data driven analysis techniques
  • Deep software experience including C++, Python, and Matlab
  • Understanding of radar software algorithms and signal/data processing for FMCW or other Doppler radar systems
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux Operating Systems
  • RF and/or radar system experience is strongly desired
  • Strong written & verbal communications skills, good interpersonal skills
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related engineering degree required
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in RF/Radar software systems
  • Must be eligible to obtain a US government clearance
Position:
  • Travel of 25% is required to support customer installation, deployment, and demonstrations.
