Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a SME Computer Network Architect to provide network design, architecture, implementation, and support in an enterprise-level environment, supporting the Information Technology Service Desk and Engineering Support program for a Contract at U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Peraton provides maintenance and operational IT support that includes engineering services for the systems, equipment, hardware, and software. This architect will design, develop, and lead the implementation, and maintenance of the HHS OIG network including OIG's North Star Cloud Architecture. The position will require thought leadership, hands-on support, and direction of other Engineering staff in the design, implementation, and support of network Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), IPv6 migration, data center cloud migration, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration, among other duties.

TheComputer Network Engineer is a network expert who has a deep understanding of architecture and design IPv6, Wireless LAN Controller technology, Cloud integration, and network security. You will be joining a forward-thinking, innovative team that is responsible for building and overseeing public and private servers and network infrastructure in a way that supports key business objectives.

What you'll do:

Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems and systems administration issues.
Design and implement computer and information networks such as Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communication networks.
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
Design network security measures.
Provide technical leadership in support of project managers by establishing goals and contributing to plans and schedules to meet Engineering project objectives.
Interact with clients including technical negotiation of plans, communication of technical approaches and plans to senior leadership, including creating and presenting plans and status, and partnering with project managers to provide technical oversight and leadership on engineering and operations projects.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

12 years of experience with a Bachelor's; 8 years of experience with Masters or Associates or High School and 16 years of experience
Expertise in designing and standardizing network architectures and configurations; including routing policy, traffic engineering, and peering policies.
Strong demonstrated experience in the following:
Managing enterprise network(s) including data center(s), disaster recovery, and WAN/LAN.
Designing and engineering enterprise IT solutions within NIST guidelines and FISMA Cybersecurity compliance requirements.
Identifying and resolving complex network issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime.
Configuring routers, switches, security devices, AP, IPv6.
Collaborating with architects and security engineers to provide engineering support, ensuring compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides, Secure Requirements Guides, and Capability Packages.
Advanced IP infrastructures and all aspects of routers, firewalls, crypto, PKI, Certificate Authority, and Linux Servers.
Security and Network design, IPSec, advanced Routing Protocols, SD- WAN, and Wi-Fi/Wireless implementation.
Maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network.
Technical Knowledge and 5+ years of experience with:
Zero Trust strategy, architecture, roadmap, implementation, and Zero Trust security readiness assessments.
Designing and configuring AWS/Azure hybrid cloud network infrastructure(s).
IPv4 to IPv6 conversions.
Implementing and configuring IPv6 features of Cisco IOS Software.

Master's degree in IT, or a related field.
Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components to deliver end to end cloud infrastructure, architectures, and designs.
Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) Certification Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
