Job Details

A leading proprietary trading firm in Chicago is seeking a Network Engineer to design, optimise, and maintain their mission-critical low latency networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimise low-latency network solutions for trading systems.
  • Manage and enhance Multicast networks for efficient market data distribution.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance to ensure reliability and speed.
  • Collaborate with traders and developers to align network systems with trading needs.
  • Automate network tasks and configurations using Python scripting.
  • Plan for network scalability and ensure security compliance.


Required Skills:
  • Expertise in low-latency networking, multicast (e.g., PIM, IGMP), and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Strong experience with network hardware (Arista, Cisco, Juniper) and tools like Wireshark.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Linux networking, market data protocols, or FPGA-based systems.


This role must sit in the firms Chicago office working in a hybrid model of 3 days in office per week.

Salary - $200,000 - 250,000 base salary plus annual performance bonus
