Job Title: Senior Level Platform DevOps Engineer (Gardener + IAS)
Location: Canada (Remote)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in Platform BTP, Gardner, and IAS development. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of technical experience with expertise in AWS hyperscalers, SAP Converged Cloud (OpenStack), deployment automation, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). This role requires a deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, container orchestration, and security best practices to ensure efficient platform operations and scalability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-native applications using Gardener, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm charts, and repository management tools.
  • Develop and automate deployment processes using tools like Ansible, Chef, Terraform.
  • Ensure efficient CI/CD pipeline management with ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins.
  • Monitor and optimize platform performance using Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and logging tools like Splunk, Elasticsearch, Logstash.
  • Manage cloud networking infrastructure with AWS VPCs, VNet, Google VPC.
  • Implement security best practices, including hardened containers, STIG compliance, and security tools like Hashicorp Vault.
  • Develop automation scripts in PowerShell and Python for streamlined operations.
  • Ensure database performance and reliability with SAP HANA and cloud-native database solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance SAP-based solutions and cloud platform scalability.


Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of technical experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and automation.
  • Expertise in AWS hyperscalers and SAP Converged Cloud (OpenStack).
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Helm charts, and CI/CD tools (ArgoCD, GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Proficiency in container orchestration (Gardener, Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud networking tools.
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks, including STIG-hardened containers and Hashicorp Vault.
  • Database knowledge in SAP HANA and cloud-based solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP solutions is a plus.
