Overview
We are hiring a Systems Engineer for a steel producer company based here in Indiana. The Systems Engineer will be hired onto the manufacturing team. The position will work with both hardware and software applications in an industrial environment. Overall, the Systems Engineer will capture data through network systems operations, as well as enhance visualization through developing User Interface between data, systems, and end-users.

Job Duties
  • Provide 24/7 support for production systems.
  • Maintain Melt-Cast Ignition (Level 2) systems.
  • Work within SQL server, hardware, and software to develop process automations.
  • Ensure robust data capture for environmental compliance and product certification.
  • Provide high-level oversight for real-time control decisions on individual machines.
  • Troubleshoot and program PLC machines to maintain daily operations.
  • Provide users with access to real-time data about facility operations.
  • Display the ability for users to replay events, review incidents and prevent problems from reoccurring.
  • Interface with plant-floor machinery to control and monitor industrial processes.
  • Apply Python automation for Human Machine Interface (HMI) stability.
  • Backup Systems and develop emergency plans to support cybersecurity.
  • Maintain knowledge of internal programming languages.

Additional
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • 4-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Strong initiative, diligence, communication, problem-solving, creativity, methodical approach, and organizational skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
