Position Description

The Application Delivery engineering team at Morgan Stanley is responsible for the engineering and renovation of our global internal & external DNS, DHCP and IPAM infrastructure, as well as our F5 hardware, virtual and software LTM & GTM capability. We are embarking on a multi-year programme of consolidation and replacement of our DDI infrastructure leveraging Infoblox. The team is also responsible for integrating this plant into our centralized self-service configuration management & monitoring systems and delivering plant management automation. We are seeking a skilled engineer with DNS and networking knowledge to join our team and contribute to this replatforming initiative.

An experienced engineer with solid technical fundamentals, proven expertise deploying Infoblox products at scale and a passion for automation would be the ideal fit for this role.

Responsibilities:

The role involves:

  • Working with solution architects, operations, application developers and fellow engineers to provide a well documented, monitored, stable and supportable DNS, DHCP & IPAM plant
  • Implementing automation for plant management and testing using Python and Ansible
  • Recommending changes to improve performance and stability at the architecture, configuration or code level
  • Working as a top-level escalation point to perform complex troubleshoots, working with other infrastructure & application owners to resolve issues in the environment
  • Communicating with internal clients and stakeholders to identify new business requirements and design well architected infrastructure solutions that meet their needs

Skills Required

  • Experience with engineering large-scale enterprise DDI deployments (preferably Infoblox NIOS, but others like bind, tinydns, ISC dhcpd also relevant)
  • A firm understanding of DNS & DHCP protocols and common architectural patterns
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts & protocols at all layers: TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP, SSL etc...
  • Experience automating repetitive tasks related to installation, configuration or management of infrastructure using Ansible, Python, shell or other scripting/programming language
  • Comfort working with a Linux-based command line & familiarity with general system administration concepts

Skills Desired

  • Recognized industry certifications from Infoblox and other DDI platforms
  • Familiarity with DNS global service load-balancing (e.g. F5 GTM, Infoblox DTC)
  • Hands-on experience deploying & configuring network load-balancing infrastructure (F5, A10, Cisco, Arista, etc...)
  • Knowledge of virtualized and containerized infrastructure
  • Experience with RESTful web APIs
