The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) enables the World Bank Group to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150+ locations. Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.
Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.
The ITS Technology Office, ITSTO, provides a wide range of technical services, ranging from managing hybrid IT infrastructure, data centers and system administration, to database, middleware, cloud and Identity management, and other integration platforms in ITSPL unit.
ITSPL (Platform) unit is looking for an individual contributor role - Senior BPM (Business Process Management) developer - for Pega and Camunda platforms supporting the World Bank Group's mission critical applications.
Responsibilities:
Manage the BPM platforms' lifecycle, establish standards and best practices.
Integrate BPM platforms with enterprise systems.
Develop and peer-review other developers' BPM solution development.
Lead design discussions, estimation and implement new BPM MVPs and applications.
Collaborate with other system architects and BPM contractors to cultivate and sustain BPM expertise for the Bank Group.
Support SRE team to monitor/alert existing BPM applications.
Track all programs in Azure DevOps using SAFe agile framework.
Effectively communicate change requests with stakeholders across time zones.
Required Skills/Competencies:
8+ years of in-depth experience in the BPM platforms supporting complex mission critical applications.
Strong understanding of API based application development and appreciation for headless/headful implementations.
Experience developing integration solutions for BPM platforms with enterprise systems such as Azure AD, IAM platform, other iPaaS components APIM, ESB, Queues and external APIs, web services and legacy data sources.
Troubleshoot & performance tuning of large complex applications.
Experience automating BPM platforms management using IaC.
Experience working with the large-scale (100+ entities) relational data models, specifically backing Pega-Oracle/Postgre databases.
Familiarity with various process modeling techniques (activity hierarchy diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, workflow diagrams, system interface diagrams).
Strong Object-Oriented design and implementation skills in Java.
Strong understanding of relational database design concepts.
Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, for retrieving data from large volume tables.
Knowledge in JavaScript, HTML and custom CSS Stylesheets, SOAP/REST connectors/services.
Excellent communication skills in English both written and oral.
Understand from client's perspective and advocate.
Stays abreast of new trends and developments with new approaches or emerging technological solutions to current business needs.
Provides guidance on the BPM standards and guidelines to members of the development community.
Research architecture/technology needs to optimize efficiency.
Collaborates across boundaries, gives own perspective and willingly receives diverse perspectives.
Selection Criteria
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience or master's degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hands-on development experience in BPM platforms - Pega and Camunda.
Hands-on development experience in platforms automation through pipelines for on-going operational monitoring / alerting.
Experience integrating BPM platforms with enterprise systems.
Strong development experience with Java/Python.
Demonstrated experience in containers and its orchestration.
Strong knowledge in IaC, SRE and DevOps principles, Microservices and API-led connectivity.
SAFe certified.
