Job Title: Product Owner
Location: Remote
Duration: 9 months (Extension Likely)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead key initiatives, fostering an environment of collaboration and creativity. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of distilling business value and goals into actionable roadmaps and refined product backlogs. This role requires someone with broad IT experience, deep understanding of IT and engineering management processes, business acumen, and project management expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product-release plans, set expectations for new functionalities, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy.
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain a product backlog aligned with strategic goals.
  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the primary liaison for stakeholders, gathering requirements and feedback to align product goals.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure clarity in requirements and priorities.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, review, and retrospectives.
  • Make informed decisions on product scope, feature prioritization, and trade-offs.
  • Balance short-term deliverables with long-term objectives.
  • Maintain high standards for product quality and ensure adherence to acceptance criteria and definitions of done.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to refine product strategy and identify opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovations.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive product documentation.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and changes effectively to all stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active or ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Bachelor s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience with large-scale projects/programs.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies for project management.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure and solve problems independently.
  • Experience with system engineering lifecycle concepts and architectural frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience in agile environments.
  • Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master: CSM, ACSM, CSP-SM).
  • Experience with Federal Government projects (e.g., FDA, NIH, HHS).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product Owner certifications (e.g., CSPO, ACSPO, CSP-PO).
  • Familiarity with CMMI level certifications.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and technologies, including:
    • Microsoft products (Power Platform, M365/Teams, AVD)
    • Atlassian suite, Azure, JAMF, Okta
