Overview
We are seeking a full-time Data Backup Administrator 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for b ackup technologies and data management, with a focus on ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of our data through effective backup and restore processes.

We are seeking a full-time Data Backup Administrator 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for b ackup technologies and data management, with a focus on ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of our data through effective backup and restore processes.
Essential Functions
- Provide support and assistance to end-users and other IT team on backup and restore related matters
- Maintain and monitor backup systems, identifying and resolving any issues promptly
- Schedule and perform regular backups, ensuring successful completion and verifying data integrity
- Generate regular reports on backup status, storage utilization, and any issues encountered
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of restore procedures and recovery plans
- Handle incident tickets and make sure they are resolved within the SLA
- Perform data recovery operations for both planned and emergency situations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in data backup and recovery
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or technology related field AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have at least 2+ years of experience with Open stack backups and backup/restore of HBASE data
- Exposure to backup software and tools (e.g Veeam / PPDM/ Cohesity, etc).
- Strong understanding of storage technologies and data management principles.
Desired Qualifications
- Open-source backup tools, backup as a service and API reporting
- Conceptual understanding on Isolated backup concepts including and not limited to Fort Knox, AirGap Vault etc
- Experience with cloud-based backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience on open source tools and automation is a plus
