As an Advanced Model-Based Systems Engineer, you'll engage in system design, requirements analysis, and engineering challenges related to modernizing and sustaining advanced aircraft and systems for Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) programs. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyze, model, design, and engineer current aircraft capabilities and future upgrades for AFLCMC programs.
  • Design, build, and apply digital methods to the acquisition process to enhance future aircraft capabilities.
  • Manage system models using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and tools such as Cameo System Modeler.
  • Lead the implementation of large-scale system models across multiple organizations.
  • Modify and update system models to reflect current acquisition strategies, technical designs, and system decisions
  • Define system use cases, activities, and system behaviors.
  • Support management of models and derived work products consistent with project configuration and data management processes and standards.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering leads as well as domain and discipline subject matter experts (SMEs) to tailor MBSE to project scope and cost and schedule constraints.
  • Translate processes from traditional document-based system engineering efforts to delivery of model-based work products to customers, including the generation of acquisition documents
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating across diverse teams to ensure efficient development and integration of systems.


Basic Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering or applied science
  • At least 1 year of DoD system modeling experience and 8 years of related experience
  • Experience with SysML and tools like Cameo System Modeler.
  • Expertise in modeling complex systems and managing enterprise models.
  • Experience with aircraft engineering or large-scale system modeling.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, high-paced environment.
  • DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret clearance


Preferred Qualifications

  • OCSMP-MBF Certification (Object Management Group - Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder - Fundamental) or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of employment.
  • Expertise in modeling complex systems and managing enterprise models.
  • Experience teaching technical courses at undergraduate and graduate levels
  • DoD weapon systems engineering and acquisition experience
  • Experience with USAF fighter aircraft systems or aerospace engineering
