For this contractor assignment, as a Data Engineer Senior you'll contribute to highly available and scalable solutions that are built on cutting-edge cloud architecture. You will partner with Data Science and Agile IT teams focused on using new technologies, modern CICD practices, and the right tools to enhance our ability to deliver value to our customers. You'll build out the necessary data pipelines to support Data Science models and enable efficient access to multiple data sources, support packaging and deploying new models or updated models to production, and create the necessary infrastructure needed for model training.

responsibilities:
- Partner with the IT App Teams and Business Partners to support data pipeline construction, documentation, deployment, and automated testing
- Create new data pipelines or improve efficiency in data pipelines needed to support the project
- Create automated data orchestration, troubleshoot issues if they arise, and validate
- Build data pipelines that enable automated data processing and efficient change
- Lead requirements reviews with the Data Scientist and Application team to ensure the design is fit for requirement
qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum of two years of work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications.
- In lieu of degree, minimum of four years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications may be accepted.
skills:
- Experience working with Snowflake, including Snowflake Tasks and Streams
- Experience working with Python
- Experience with a variety of relational and non-relational databases and data sources
- Experience building components of data infrastructure solutions that will interface with traditional RDBMS, NoSQL systems, object stores such as S3, HDFS, or Pub/Sub systems. Data may be in various formats. Systems may be on-premise, in the cloud, external APIs or vendor data.
- Knowledge of at least one good tool for effective and performant tabular data manipulation (e.g. Pandas, Dask, Spark, or SQL)
Preferred skills and experiences:
- Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration frameworks and related tools a plus
- CI/CD automation, e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins or ADO
- Experience with analytical databases, snowflake
- Prefect
- Experience supporting Business Intelligence and Data Science teams to resolve Data Quality Issues and implement new Data Feature Requests
- HVR Experience
