Description

SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This new program is part of a broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats. This next generation approach shall employ the latest advancements across the technology spectrum and distributed architectures to deliver a cutting-edge approach. The position requires an individual with strong technical skills.

SAIC is seeking an experienced Agile Release Train Engineer to work closely with the Scrum Master and Product Owners to lead release train teams in support of our United States Air Force customer. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, team skills and DoD Programs experience. Release Train Engineer (RTE) plays a pivotal role in facilitating and guiding the Agile Release Train (ART). They will be expected to continually balance and adjust work priorities to meet short deadlines.

Facilitation and Coordination of the following:
  • Release Planning Events: Organize and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning events, ensuring that teams align on a common vision and objectives for the upcoming increment.
  • Lead Agile Ceremonies: Work with the Scrum Master to lead structured meetings and facilitate communication of work to be done, coordinating demonstrations of work completed, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Scrum of Scrums: Facilitate the Scrum of Scrums meetings to help teams coordinate and resolve dependencies and impediments.
  • ART Sync Meetings: Conduct ART sync meetings such as the ART Stand-up and System Demos to provide visibility and align efforts across teams.
  • Backlog Groom and Refinement: Work with the Product Owners (POs) and development team to review and refine the product backlog and ensure it is ready for sprint planning, prioritizing items, and addressing any ambiguities.
  • Work with Configuration Management and Build Managers to improve CM processes.
  • Oversee the products and capabilities integration within the agile development lifecycle.
  • Responsible for leading and monitoring ART activities.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Engineer and technical leads to promote alignment and coordination.
  • Works closely with the Scrum Master to ensure strategic integration and proper execution.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active DOD secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master.
  • Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Mastery of Atlassian Suites (Confluence, JIRA).
  • Experience in large Scaled Agile Teams.
  • Experience leading Cross Functional Agile Release Train Teams.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Experience working with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
