Job Description: Datacenter Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Datacenter Technician to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the routine maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of our datacenter operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, have hands-on experience with server hardware, and understand datacenter processes. Responsibilities
  • Set up, install, and configure servers, networking equipment, and related hardware as per specifications.
  • Monitor datacenter systems for performance and availability, performing routine checks and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Quickly diagnose hardware and software issues, providing efficient and effective resolutions to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting efforts. Update systems and procedure documentation as needed.
  • Track inventory of hardware and spare parts, assisting in procurement and ensuring that necessary supplies are available for operations.
  • Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT staff to implement upgrades, enhancements, and migration activities.
  • Adhere to datacenter safety protocols and compliance regulations, ensuring that all activities are performed in a safe and secure manner.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a datacenter, IT support, or related technical field.
  • Proficiency in hardware installation and troubleshooting (servers, switches, routers).
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), network configurations, and virtualization technologies.
  • Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA) are a plus but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
