Senior Data Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for Senior Data Engineer for a right to hire assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities :
The Lead Data and Platform Integration Engineer in Risk Quant Analytics Team owns the responsibility of gathering requirements from business teams and coordinating technical changes with development and infrastructure teams to meet the needs of the business.

The Lead Data and Platform Integration Engineer role is an important intermediary between development teams and various users, business, and infrastructure teams. An individual in the role will need to adapt in both developer tools, processes and versed in multiple technology disciplines. The role will also guide the team on all aspects of design and adapt to changing requirements with best practices to present supportable solutions while staying fiscally responsible to the company.

• Consult, communicate, and gain acceptance with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure end to end support for design, implementation, and operations. Solutions should support end to end success.
• Facilitate the implementation of innovative solutions or technologies by operations & engineering teams and providing subject matter expertise in an educational and supportive manner.
• Perform coding, debugging, analysis and planning.
• Being open minded and willing to learn modern technologies.
• Assess new products and solutions, and document plan and procedures.
• Build partnerships with users, business, developers, and technology teams to help ensure the success of the company via existing and emerging technologies.
• Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 7 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge in database technologies like Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 or similar
• Strong expertise in creating, tuning SQL queries, and developing PL/SQL packages.
• Experience is Linux shell scripting like ksh or bash and commands.
• Experience in loader utilities like SQL plus, db2cli, SnowSQL.
• Knowledge in data integration tool Talend or Informatica or similar.
• Experienced in scheduling tools like Autosys or similar.
• Good understanding of cloud technologies AWS and/or Azure
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, experience presenting to wide range of audiences.
