Job Details

The IT Senior Project manager implements and monitors a variety of medium to large scale projects, working with IT team members and the end user community. Works under the general direction of the IT Director of Applications and has specific application areas assigned.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Manage medium to large scale enterprise-wide projects - mobilizing resources from different teams, define milestones, create project plans, define project structure, monitor project activity, establish release guidelines, controls, manage release inventory and project closure activities.
  • Publish metrics reporting, status, and dashboards. Organize periodic review meetings with Senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements, SOX and operational controls.
  • Develop and obtain approval and commitment for the project scope, objective and related time schedules.
  • Develop contingency plans, risk mitigation strategies, and manage issue logs.
  • Assist in resolution of issues and mitigation of individual risks.
  • Liaison with other functional/technical teams for all project activity.
  • Assist with selecting methodology and documentation standards for the project team.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in information technology or Project Management environment.
  • Project Management certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of Project Management tools and methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Up to 20% travel by car or airplane to visit business units.
  • Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with applications related to transportation and logistics for servicing customers in the field is preferred.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps to manage project user stories and tasks.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Knowledge of Logistical tools such as Descartes.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • HAZ Waste industry experience.
