Project Description:
  • Work as part of the Commercial Operations Application Support team within Technology Services.
  • Support vendor and custom developed applications used in the Commercial Operations area to provide clean reliable power to Xcel Energy customers.
  • This role will also allow for the opportunity to participate in the development of tools which address functional gaps of vendor applications or meet emerging business needs.
  • In addition, the role will allow the interaction with other Xcel Energy technical teams in collaborating to deliver beneficial solutions to Commercial Operations.
  • This will be a summer opportunity with the potential to extend into a school semester. Must be able to work full-time during the summer. Any work during the school year, work hours will be part-time.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Enrolled in programs focused on Science, Technology, or Mathematics, such as computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, accounting, data science, drafting, gas design, electric design, project management, construction management, chemistry, biology, environmental studies, natural sciences, and similar.
  • General knowledge of IT Concepts (Network, Database, Server, Software Development)


Preferred Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience programming with Java, Python.
  • Ability to write Oracle SQL scripts
  • Windows and/or Unix/Linux server experience
  • Utility, Finance and/or Risk Industry experience.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.40 to $21.60 per hour
