Job Details

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Sr. Technical Risk & Control Manager for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Investment Management clients in Princeton, NJ, Atlanta, GA, Wilmington, DE or New York, NY . This is a hybrid role - 4 days onsite per week.

This role is part of the Release, Standards & Risk Management sub-chapter within the Digital Workplace - Solutions & Control chapter. The senior role will be focused on risk evaluation, tracking and monitoring.

The Risk Assessment & Control workstream focuses on reviewing product release or service changes to the digital end-user experience. This includes but is not limited to internal audit tracking, outage review and monitoring for remediation. We partner with key stakeholders to ensure that that all parties are unified and standardized to manage risk, and continuously strive for improvement.

The Senior Risk Management role is pivotal in providing strategic support to managers and employees through a variety of high-level tasks and responsibilities. With 5-7 years of experience in the field, including but not limited to:

Responsibilities :
  • Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the data, with strong familiarity with risk reporting and metrics
  • Partnering and leading with various teams on risk-related activities - e.g., audit findings and remediation, policies and standards review, operating event support.
  • Managing confidential and urgent materials with utmost discretion, including organizing and maintaining documents, scheduling appointments, conducting research and disseminating information through meetings and other communication channels
  • Preferred utilization of Python for data analysis within the environment when applicable
  • Collaborating with leads & stakeholders to identify, analyze and prepare risk remediation strategies
  • Effectively manage upwards with regular updates to management, seeking feedback, aligning team goals with organizational objectives, and proactively presenting solutions to potential challenges to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Independently manage projects from start to finish by making strategic decisions, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, and driving continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Managing in risk related activities such as policy self-assessments and risk control self-assessments to ensure that DW follows protocol and actions recommendations by groups like RQA-Technology Risk Management


Required Skills :
  • Possessing a broad knowledge of technology and strong familiarity with risk and control frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST, COBIT
  • Solid understanding of change management processes, principles, methodologies, and tools, with a focus on technology-driven transformations.
  • Preferred experience with tools like GRC, Smartsheets, SharePoint Online, PowerBI and other M365 related products
  • Exhibiting familiarity with various risk metrics, data sources and performance analysis
  • Exceptional communication and active listening skills, with the ability to articulate messages clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, flexible and adaptable in ambiguous situations, and resilient with propensity to persevere
  • Forward-looking with a holistic approach, a team player who can work collaboratively, and possess acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts and knowledge of financial markets and risk management principles.
  • Education: A BA/BS degree or equivalent. Preferred candidates would also have relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, or CRISC
