Summary
One of Apple's R&D groups is currently seeking a Sr. Controls & Sensing Firmware Engineer. This engineer will architect, develop and integrate DSP and controls systems algorithms onto a real time system. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for integration into a broader system platform and optimize thread management, loop timing and ISRs related to physical peripherals. The ideal candidate has worked at the intersection of controls system hardware, firmware and algorithms and enjoys fast paced highly cross-functional teamwork. Description
In this role you will partner with control systems, mechanical, power electronics and embedded FW engineers to develop robust and efficient firmware for unique applications.

Responsibilities include:
Drive control system and motion sensing FW architecture, development flows, and integration on new hardware
Communicate progress cross-functionally (written, verbal, and presentation)
Develop diagnostics, fault handling and transition prototype code in to production
Optimize embedded system design to minimize compute utilization, transport and processing delays in the pursuit of performance.
Perform failure analysis and problem solving with internal (Apple) and external (vendor) partners.
