As a Senior Product Manager in our Payments team, you will be responsible for defining and executing the product roadmap for our payment solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams-including engineering, design, operations, and compliance-to build and optimize payment products that enhance user experience, ensure compliance, and drive business growth. You'll have a significant impact on how customers interact with our payment systems and play a key role in shaping the future of payments at Affinity.

Pay Transparency Laws
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $145,000 to $155,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

What the day will look like
- Product Strategy & Vision: Define the product strategy and vision for payment products that align with business objectives. Stay ahead of market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies in the payments space.
- Roadmap Development: Own and prioritize the product roadmap for payments solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate opportunities, and define clear product initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with engineering, design, data science, marketing, operations, and legal teams to deliver product features from concept to launch, ensuring alignment across all areas of the business.
- Market & Customer Insights: Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer interviews to gain insights and ensure products meet customer needs and drive business value.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure product features comply with regulatory and legal requirements, including PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant standards. Manage risk by integrating appropriate fraud prevention and security measures.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics to inform product decisions, measure the success of features, and iterate on product offerings. Use KPIs to track product performance and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for key stakeholders regarding product status, timelines, and goals. Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and successes.
- Innovation & Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving and optimizing existing payment processes, systems, and integrations. Lead initiatives to drive efficiency, reduce friction, and improve overall user satisfaction.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years focused on payment products or financial technology (FinTech).
- Deep Knowledge: Strong understanding of payment systems, including gateways, fraud prevention, payment methods (credit/debit cards, wallets, bank transfers, etc.), and industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, PSD2).
- Technical Proficiency: Solid technical acumen with experience working closely with engineering teams to design and build scalable, secure payment systems. Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and back-end payment architecture is a plus.
- Customer-Centric: A passion for understanding customer needs and pain points, with a proven track record of delivering successful products that improve user experience.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple stakeholders, and drive alignment on complex product initiatives.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to drive product decisions, optimize features, and measure success.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
