Are you based in Pennsylvania and are looking for a role 100% remote?
A medium sized company is looking for a Junior Systems Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation and a passion for learning and problem-solving. As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and IT staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient system performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and other maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement solutions for system improvements and enhancements.
  • Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Respond to and resolve technical support requests from end-users in a timely manner.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow within the field of systems engineering.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are advantageous but not required.
