Performance Engineer

Role:

• Lead Performance Engineering and Testing of Web and Client/Server based and Cloud platform applications using Dynatrace APM Monitoring tool.
• Must have a strong understanding of application performance management and the use of Dynatrace SaaS.
• Experienced working with Azure, Google cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and other Cloud infrastructure.
• You will be responsible for collaborating with management, and application developer teams to identify requirements and specifications for application performance monitoring.
• You will need to have knowledge of terraform, puppet and other IAC tools to help automate the building of certain cloud Infrastructure and other tasks.
• Know how to work with Dynatrace Grail to analyze logs, metrics, and events that correlate with traces that help to reveal the issues.
• Responsible for leading the development of strategies, engineering concepts, automated workflows, and the implementation of operational aspects to delivering modern application monitoring solutions for the organization.
• Configure Dynatrace to integrate with Open-Telemetry to capture logs for Cloud applications.
• Configure custom dashboards, Notebooks, workflow and other new features in Dynatrace to detect performance issues before they are noticed by application end users.
• Monitor production applications for performance issues and assist in troubleshooting the application. Create and produce ad hoc reports.
• Provide guidance, informal training and recommendations regarding use of the Dynatrace APM tool for integrating with other applications to analyze performance.
• Interact with various stakeholders that includes Infrastructure teams, Application & Development teams to understand their monitoring, performance and analytics requirements and build diagrams for delivering solutions.
• Develop scripts for automation using PowerShell, Python, and other script languages.
• Assist in performance tuning and monitoring of system tiers in various applications.
• Provide documentation detailing results of analysis, monitoring, and recommendations
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

• 5+ years of related industry experience with Dynatrace Application Performance monitoring (APM), custom dashboards, Log Analytics, Cloud monitoring, Infrastructure monitoring using Dynatrace and Splunk.
• Work with Dynatrace and Open-Telemetry for log analysis.
• 3 + years with other Application Performance monitoring (APM) tools such as Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring (was Stackdriver monitoring), AppDynamics, New Relic, and other tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with technical troubleshooting ability.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, Python, and other scripting language
• Good oral and writing communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of SQL a plus.
• Knowledge of Jira a plus
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience required.
• Experience/knowledge administering application servers, web servers, and databases (Tomcat, WebSphere, Nginx, Microsoft IIS, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
