Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, the JDE Application Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing the upgrade of JDE from version 9.0 to 9.2. This role involves helping to set the JDE systems strategy, managing technology architecture, developing teams and solutions, maintaining global templates and standards, and executing global programs. The JDE Application Development Manager will collaborate with the TGS Business Partner organization to identify, and deliver technology solutions in support of the TGS organization goals and objectives.

Job Summary:
The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing applications to support various business processes across multiple departments within the organization. The candidate should have experience in developing applications using Microsoft technologies such as .NET Core, SQL Server, Angular, JavaScript, etc., and working knowledge of Agile methodology. They should also possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions using Microsoft technologies such as .NET Core, SQL Server, Angular, JavaScript, etc.
  • Collaborate with other developers on coding standards, best practices, testing procedures, code reviews, and debugging techniques.
  • Work closely with Product Owners/Managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development teams.
  • Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and sharing expertise with others in the team.
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Contribute ideas for new features or improvements to existing systems based on customer feedback and industry trends.
  • Ensure high quality standards are met through thorough testing of all components before they go live.
  • Monitor performance metrics related to system availability, response time, error rates, etc., to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and their potential impact on current systems.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience including three years of experience developing applications using Microsoft technologies such as .NET Core, SQL Server, Angular, JavaScript, etc.
  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience utilizing JDE in a functional / technical capacity.
  • Proficiency in one or more server-side scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, etc.
  • Experience working with relational databases like Oracle DBMS or PostgreSQL.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with ability to debug complex issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Effective communicator able to convey technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross functional teams.
  • Proactive approach to learning new technologies and adapting quickly to changing business needs.
