Top Three Skills:
1. 5+ yrs Network engineering- Implementing, designing and configuring the network, 5+ cisco swithcing and routing experience including Nexus (7K, 5K, 2K)
2. 3+ yrs install, admin and maintenance of Firewall clusters
- must have Palo Alto experience - this is a non-negotiable. This resource must have experience installing and configuring Palo Alto firewalls and preferably in an enterprise environment.
Other firewalls in the environment are, (Cisco 6500 line, Cisco ASA firewalls, Juniper Firewalls, F5 load balancers)
They must have installed, configured, troubleshoot, maintain Palo Alto firewalls and preferrably in a mid-enterprise level environment.
3. CCNP or CCNA Certification
Job Description:
Must pass CompTia Security + prior to starting
Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
Required Certifications:
1. CompTIA Security+
2. CCNP or CCNA (may look at someone strong with only a CCNA)

Position Requirements
This position is for a network engineer focused on Cisco switch and firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Juniper firewalls implementation and management. This position will work with the existing network engineers to manage, deploy, and troubleshoot both NIPR and SIPR switching, firewall, and load balancers. This position will assist with implementing new switches, firewalls, and load balancers, and provide input for developing local operating procedures and policies as needed or requested. This position will need to be adept at monitoring the ongoing operation of the switches and identifying potential issues and corrective actions as needed.
Summary of role from internal team member - "This role will be heavy working with firewalls. Their % breakdown varies day to day. This person must be good at troubleshooting issues and handling any problems that may arise. They have Cisco, Juniper and Palo Alto in the environment. Someone who has some experience with coding or working with applications would be a great fit. They also have Linux in the environment so if the professional has Linux experience. The networking team really wants someone who is a great fit for the team and the person can learn as they go.
