Job Details

Position Title: SRE (Linux System Administrator)

Duration of Assignment: 10+ months

Work location: Glendale, CA (3 days weekly on site - typically Tuesday-Thursday)

The Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support Imagineering in delivering exceptional digital experiences to our guests. This role is based in Glendale, CA, requiring on-site presence three days a week (typically Tuesday through Thursday) for a 10+ month assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Build: Lead architectural design and implementation of automated build and deployment systems, platforms, and cloud environments.

  • System Administration: Expertly manage and configure Linux and Windows servers, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts and tools using languages such as Go, Python, or Ruby to automate system tasks and improve operational efficiency.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Imagineering Technology Studio teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide exceptional support.

  • Monitoring and Security: Implement robust monitoring solutions and security measures to safeguard systems against vulnerabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in installing and configuring Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) platforms such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.

  • Proficiency in public cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and container technologies like Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes.

  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or Pulumi.

  • Familiarity with source control systems, particularly Git.

  • Understanding of web technologies and servers, including Java, Node.js, Tomcat, IIS, Apache, nginx, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

  • Solid grasp of internet technologies and network protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and load balancing configurations.

  • Ability to author tools and scripts for automating production tasks.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to system performance and reliability.
