JOB TITLE: Stick Pack/Bartlet Machine Operator
SUMMARY: Sets-up and runs complex Stick Pack and Bartlet machine operations that
produce single serve powder packets.
DUTIES:
The following reflects management s definition of essential functions for this job but
does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign
duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or
other reasons.
Performs set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of Stick Pack and
Bartlet machine.
Conducts on-going assessment of quality control and operational procedures.
Constantly monitors the line making sure equipment is working properly and
efficiently. Check for problems on the line, if a problem cannot be fixed, report to
Packaging Manager immediately.
Review packaging specifications and set up the machinery to match the specs for
each product.
Review of line and adjacent areas to be sure of cleanliness and that nothing is
obstructing the product and/or machinery. Utilize Clean and Dirty tags on
machinery as necessary.
Review packaging, film, powder and advise supervisor of any quality issues that may
occur.
Comprehend the function and trouble shooting of each piece of equipment including
its capabilities and limitations.
Complete production paperwork at the end of each product run and the end of each
day.
Meet and/or exceed production goals and guidelines for the product being run.
Clean and sanitize all equipment at the end of each run. Notify QC Technician for
Hygeina Swab test. Complete all cleaning logs as necessary.
Understand and use machinery manuals to their full capacity when needed.
Other duties may be included as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The individual (s) is responsible for complying with all rules and regulations in the
Employee Handbook and the Safety Manual (IIPP).

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two to four years related experience or equivalent
Prior machine operation experience required. Experience running high-speed
packeting machine, stick packet/bartelt line preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent communication and basic math skills
Commitment to excellence and high standards
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
with enthusiasm
Acute attention to detail
Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions
Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in
the workplace.
Bilingual skills a plus
Forklift certified a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the
following:
Calculate figures and amounts.
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information
Read and understand equipment manuals.
Ability to operate a hand truck and pallet jack
Walk, kneel, squat, bend, stand and climb stairs.
Reach, Twist, Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Grab, grasp and use fingers and hands to push buttons and operate machinery
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Total amount of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures are cold/hot
and noise level can be moderate to high.
This position is required to wear common protective and/or safety gear, i.e. gloves,
face mask, hairnet, uniform, etc.
This position is exposed to small particles, odors and allergens.
