Head End Test Engineer (Backfill/Plano)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking to fill a Head End Test Engineer (Backfill/Plano) position in Plano, TX. This role will be onsite.

General Duties:
* Test and evaluation of a network-based ad insertion and content delivery system
* Development and execution of test plans based on system requirements
* Maintenance of test results documents
* U-verse video and Residential Gateway configuration and testing

REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience using Wireshark under Linux and Windows, with the ability to use Wireshark to troubleshoot video stream issues
* Experience utilizing SOAP to run API tests on devices
* Experience with TR-69-based management platforms
* EMS - Element management system & device interactions experience
* Working knowledge of IP based networking and protocols for video transport, including multicast UDP, RTP, and IGMP
* Working familiarity with Linux operating systems
* Some knowledge of scripting for automation purposes: (Ruby/Python/Perl, etc.)
* Capable of working independently with little oversight
* Good written and oral communication skills, including sub-system visual documentation with Visio or equivalent
* Ability to read and understand technical requirements, develop test plans with detailed test cases, and validate requirements with formally documented test results

Advantageous skills:
* Experience analyzing RTP streams
* Some knowledge of video transport protocols (MPEG-TS, etc.)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
