What You'll Do
Are you a full-stack Software Engineer who excels in a dynamic, product-driven environment? If so, Principal has a great opportunity within our Benefits & Protection business, focusing on Non-Qualified Retirement IT.
In this position you'll have the opportunity to work on a platform team that supports our internal Workflow capabilities. The team works closely across product teams and with our operations leaders to optimize our business processes and supporting capabilities. Last year the product team launched a brand-new Case Workflow Platform that is powered by Salesforce and integrated with AWS. Come join our team as we continue to enhance the platform!
The ideal candidate will have experience with Salesforce and AWS, along with a solid foundation in traditional Java front-end and back-end frameworks. We're looking for a highly collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment. A willingness to take on various roles within the team and a strong drive to continuously learn emerging technologies are essential.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$91000 - $152000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Who You Are
- Associate or bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years' work experience
- Proven experience as an IT professional
- Ability to acquire certification(s) in an IT related field is a plus
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Cloud (AWS), and traditional on-prem Java applications/frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred
- Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required
- Basic leadership and presentation skills required
- Excellent time management skills preferred
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
- Some travel may be required, including overnight stays
- May be required to provide on-call support
