Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Techno-Functional Project Manager with strong expertise in route planning and optimization systems. This role requires a candidate with a blend of technical and functional skills who can manage projects that involve implementing and optimizing routing systems, as well as enhancing overall supply chain and logistics operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing IT projects, with a focus on logistics, route optimization, and transportation planning. They will engage with stakeholders across multiple departments and work closely with technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects that improve operational efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead end-to-end project management of IT initiatives focused on route planning and optimization, ensuring that deliverables meet timelines, budgets, and expectations.
• Techno-Functional Expertise: Serve as the key point of contact for both technical teams and business stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions and vice versa.
• Route Planning Systems: Oversee the implementation, customization, and optimization of route planning software (e.g., Trimble, Roadnet, or similar) to improve delivery schedules, reduce operational costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with logistics, operations, and IT teams to gather requirements, develop project plans, and communicate progress and roadblocks to stakeholders.
• Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement in route optimization and logistics processes and implement solutions that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the systems.
• Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and work with teams to develop mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
• Data Analysis: Work closely with data and analytics teams to analyze route performance and optimization algorithms, ensuring the solution meets business needs.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time and according to scope and quality expectations.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all solutions comply with industry standards and company policies, and create detailed project documentation for future reference.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Experience: 8+ years of project management experience, preferably within IT projects focused on route planning, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Techno-Functional Expertise: Hands-on experience with route planning and optimization systems (e.g., Trimble, Roadnet, Oracle Transportation Management, or similar) and the ability to manage both technical and functional aspects of project delivery.
• Logistics/Supply Chain Knowledge: Strong understanding of logistics, route optimization, and transportation planning processes, with experience in process improvements in these areas.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development life cycles (SDLC), cloud technologies, and integration methods (APIs, middleware, etc.).
• Project Methodologies: Proven experience managing projects using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
• Location Requirement: Must be based in Dallas, TX or able to commute locally.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: PMP, Prince2, or other project management certifications.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS-based route optimization tools.
• Background in data analytics and performance monitoring for route optimization systems.
