Veris Manufacturing (an Emerald Technologies company) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician (QA Technician) to join its Brea, CA team! We are looking for a QA Technician to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs by performing AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) programming and validation activities, and providing support including debugging and training operators, for inspection operations utilizing AOI equipment, 2D and 3D.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:

  • Creates programs for all inspection machines, primarily 3D AOI Programming.
  • Edits, debugs, and optimizes AOI inspection programs as needed for every batch of assemblies.
  • Monitors and corrects systemic programming issues and document additional critical criteria.
  • Performs, machine calibrations, monitor and sustain preventive maintenance activities on AOI equipment as needed.
  • Trains other Programmers, Machine Support technicians, and Machine Operators on detailed machine instructions updates / changes.
  • Run machine generated reports and data to Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, QA, and Manufacturing groups for machine inspection programs/ results.
  • Troubleshoots machine related and process-related issues.

Qualifications of the Quality Assurance Technician:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education AND technical school certificate OR equivalent education and training required.
  • 3-5 years experience in Electronics Manufacturing or PCB industry or similar fields, preferably with at least 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, or a similar role.
  • IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing monitoring and MRP systems.
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Knowledge of military/aerospace, medical device, CAPA and continuous improvement is preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
