Junior Security Analyst - Permanant - Miramar, FL/ Hybrid - $75,000 - $85,000

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Junior Security Analyst in Miramar, FL/ Hybrid.

Role Description

The Jr. IT Security Analyst will support the IT & Security Compliance team in identifying and prioritizing security risks and assisting with governance/compliance initiatives. This role requires a keen interest in technical issues and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate is intrinsically motivated and eager to stay up-to-date on the rapidly evolving security landscape, new SaaS technology, our IT technical and systems environment, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
The individual in this role will work closely with the IT & Security Compliance Analyst and the Manager of InfoSec, Governance, Security, and Compliance to support various aspects of security risk management and compliance initiatives
Continuously improve, strengthen and scale the company's security and compliance program in coordination with internal and external teams and partners, prioritizing strategies that focus on improving quality and mitigating risks.
Assist in the end-to-end management of security-related risks including risk identification, analysis, mitigation and reporting to management on a periodic basis (i.e. monthly, quarterly and etc.).
Aggregate and track security risks across various business units, security domains, and asset categories
Review network and application security logs to identify any non-standard environment usage or behavior.
Utilize IT incident management procedures to determine risk exposure and take necessary actions to quickly address a potential issue.
Facilitate Application User Access Reviews in accordance with defined IT policies and procedures
Assist in the identification, documentation, and recommendation of policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the IT environment.
Collaborate with individuals from IT, Application Development, Compliance and Business Operations in in order to improve and implement new processes that will further grow the foundation of the Security program.
Develop a subject matter expertise for one or multiple assigned cybersecurity technology stacks (e.g., identity and access management, network intrusion detection and prevention, host based security tools)
Participate in the vendor risk management process including review of vendor HIPAAA and ePHI security controls.
Work on HIPAA Gap remediation initiatives and action items.
Maintain and promote security awareness platform training, campaigns, phishing and other user awareness activities.
Evaluate and work closely with technical IT personnel to implement technical security solutions and evaluate changes to risk and effect of risk mitigation strategies.

Skills & Requirements

1-2 years of experience in IT Systems Administration and/or Cybersecurity
Must possess experience with information security concepts and best practices
Must possess experience with HIPAA/HITECH regulations
Must possess experience with cloud computing concepts and SaaS systems
Must possess excellent communication and program management skills
Working with Windows Servers and Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs.
Microsoft office 365 security configurations, reviews.
MDM (Mobile Device Management)
DLP (Data Loss Prevention)
Security Monitoring, SIEM (e.g AlienVault, Splunk, Qradar, etc.)
IT Security Certification a plus
