Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Tester to support the development and execution of test cases while providing technical and domain expertise to peers. This role involves working independently and using established guidelines to execute test cases and perform root cause defect analysis. The role will ensure quality and efficiency across multiple projects.
Duties:

Develop test plans for small to medium projects with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Follow general guidelines from test plans and receive minimal instruction or direction from leadership.

Adapt and modify test plans according to changing project circumstances.

Document and execute test cases based on approved test plans, project requirements, and design specifications.

Develop Software Quality Assurance automation scripts aligned with the established test plan.

Perform Software Quality Assurance tests, including GUI, back-end, interface, batch, regression, and automation execution performance testing, while recording results according to project standards.

Conduct defect root cause analysis and verify defect fixes.

Create and review test data necessary to support planned tests.

Update the Requirements Traceability Matrix to ensure coverage of requirements.

Collaborate with other functional teams as needed.

Provide Software Quality Assurance status updates to leadership.

Contribute to test planning activities and create related test documentation in specialty areas.

Identify and escalate risks or issues to leadership proactively, contributing to the development of solutions.

Provide technical and functional guidance to junior staff members and mentor them.

Demonstrate domain expertise and present test scenarios to clients when necessary.

Apply advanced knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodologies, best practices, and procedures to ensure that test objectives are achieved.

Possess in-depth business knowledge in one or more domains.

Provide excellent customer service and operational support while maintaining a commitment to quality.

Stay updated with new technologies and market developments.

Offer constructive feedback and receive it from peers and leadership.

Provide technical and testing guidance to the Software Quality Assurance team.
Mandatory Skills/ Experience:
-
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a closely related field
-
7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience.
-
Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Assurance Life Cycle (STLC).

Moderate experience with back-end Software Quality Assurance testing.

Familiarity with programming fundamentals.

Experience with SharePoint applications, Webex, Skype, and other collaborative tools.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Experience with defect management tools such as Jira.

Moderate understanding of Unix commands.

Proficient with database tools such as Oracle, SQL Server, and TOAD.

Strong SQL skills.
Desirable Skills/ Experience:

Experience in guiding and mentoring junior Software Quality Assurance team members.

Expertise in performing root cause analysis and resolving complex defects.

Proven track record of delivering high-quality results and meeting project timelines.

Ability to work independently and provide leadership in quality assurance practices.

Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving project requirements.
