Job Description:

Job Title: Data Architect - (Data Governance)

Number of Positions: 3

Contract Duration: 12+ months, with potential for hire

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid - 3 days per week in office)

Pay Rate: $63.37 per hour

Project Overview: Apex Systems is seeking Data Governance Consultants to join their team focused on Data Quality and Governance around Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanction-related work. The project involves evaluating and enhancing data quality and governance processes, identifying gaps, and implementing necessary controls. The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of data management, data governance, and the data lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and enhance data quality and governance processes related to AML and sanction screenings.
  • Utilize data lineage, data modeling, and various databases to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Identify gaps in current systems and implement necessary controls.
  • Understand and manage the data lifecycle, including controls required during data capture, transfer, storage, and usage.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders, business partners, and teams to ensure effective data governance practices.
  • Lead and participate in hands-on work, providing leadership and meaningful conversations with teams.

Required Skillset:
  • Strong understanding of data management, data quality, data governance, data lineage, and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of AML and sanction screening processes.
  • Experience with data lifecycle management and implementing data controls at various stages.
  • Familiarity with diverse technical landscapes, including IBM mainframe and BI tools.
  • Leadership experience and ability to interact effectively with technical stakeholders and business partners.

Interview Process:
  • One round, 1-hour long video panel interview (semi-technical/cultural)

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • In-depth understanding of data quality and governance, particularly in the context of AML and sanction screenings.
  • Ability to understand and manage data controls at various levels (file, interface, system, dataset).
  • Experience working with diverse technical environments and understanding the differences between mainframe applications and relational databases.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to engage in meaningful conversations with teams and stakeholders.
