Job Title: Lead MuleSoft Developer

Location: Hartford, Connecticut (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months

Employment Type: Contract

Project Overview:

This role supports the ongoing modernization of a statewide child welfare information system. The team is focused on replacing a legacy system with a next-generation solution to improve operational efficiency, data quality, and compliance with state and federal standards. The project also includes ongoing support of current enterprise applications and the integration of MuleSoft and Salesforce platforms.

Scope of Work:

The organization is seeking an experienced Lead MuleSoft Developer to join the enterprise application development team. The candidate will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of APIs and integrations, especially related to MuleSoft and Salesforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MuleSoft development, system integration, and SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) practices. This individual will participate in the full SDLC lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable API solutions using MuleSoft.
  • Build and maintain integrations between MuleSoft and Salesforce.
  • Provide production support for existing MuleSoft interfaces and workflows.
  • Create new data exchanges and manage file imports/exports via MuleSoft.
  • Analyze requirements, participate in design discussions, and document solutions.
  • Contribute to all phases of the SDLC, including documentation and QA planning.
  • Support system migrations from legacy platforms to modern cloud-based systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural decisions, and team knowledge sharing.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Assist in planning, estimation, and technical leadership in Agile environments.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of MuleSoft development experience (must-have).
  • Strong understanding of SOA principles (10+ years preferred).
  • Hands-on experience integrating MuleSoft with Salesforce (5+ years).
  • Proficient in MuleSoft deployment best practices.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Microsoft DevOps or Team Foundation Server.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design and design patterns.
  • Strong experience with XSLT, XML, JSON, and SQL-to-XML queries.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, WCF, WebAPI, SOAP, and REST.
  • Experience working with web services (RESTful and SOAP).
  • Skilled in creating enterprise-grade SOA service standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Azure Service Bus.
  • Strong database development skills using SQL Server (tables, views, stored procedures, and functions).
  • Familiarity with DB2 and other relational databases.
