Your tasks

In this role, the ideal candidate will work as part of a cross-functional product development team, developing and launching production of electric power steering systems for various OEM vehicle platforms. Ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing and reporting, the bench testing and validation of the full system in development and production phases. This requires strong time management skills, and active cooperation with counterparts in other engineering disciplines such as mechanical design, electrical hardware development, software development, manufacturing, and quality. Ideal candidate will also work hand in hand with a team of technicians who perform most of the test equipment setup and operation. Electric power steering systems are a complex and exciting product so strong engineering background is required and "hands-on" mentality is very helpful.

This gives each team member a chance to contribute based on their individual background, and it fosters further development of each team member's skills and the collective team's capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and execute testing plan in cooperation with product development team and customer
  • Gather and analyze data from functional, durability, environmental and misuse tests of product
  • Write and publish test reports that include judgement and conclusion based on gathered data and analysis
  • Work with test lab technicians to ensure accuracy and repeatability of test set up and data collection
  • Use methodical problem-solving approach to find root cause of test failures or diagnose problems with test set up
  • Review customer requirements and align feasibility with product development team and customer for new tests
  • Physical preparation of the EPS system by flashing the appropriate software, calibrations and hardware as provided by the engineering teams
  • Setting appropriate condition state and security level
  • Check basic function/assistance
  • Validate restbus functionality
  • Calibrate endstops
  • Calibrate steering angle

Your profile

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering to include Mechanical and Mechatronics
  • 3+ years' experience in automotive product development or testing
  • Product development experience - including work package planning, and evaluation of product performance against requirements
