Job Details

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assembler Developer to join our team. The Assembler Developer will be responsible for writing, testing, and maintaining assembler code for our software products. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 to 8 + years of experience in developing assembler code and a strong understanding of computer architecture.

Responsibilities:

  1. Write, test, and maintain assembler code for software products
  2. Collaborate with other developers and team members to identify software requirements
  3. Debug and resolve software defects in a timely manner
  4. Develop and implement testing plans to ensure software quality
  5. Stay up-to-date with new developments in assembler programming and computer architecture
  6. Document code changes and software updates for future reference
  7. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
  8. Assist in the development of technical specifications and project timelines
  9. Communicate progress and status updates to project stakeholders

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  2. At least 4-8 years of experience in developing assembler code
  3. Strong understanding of computer architecture and operating systems
  4. Experience with software development tools such as debuggers, profilers, and version control systems
  5. Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  9. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  10. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and programming languages

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with IBM Assembler Language or similar programming languages
  2. Knowledge of mainframe systems and architecture
  3. Experience with Agile development methodologies
  4. Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies
  5. Understanding of software security and best practices
  6. z/OS (Assembler) Programmer

4-8 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe system using assembler.

Strong proficiency in assembler programming on the z/OS platform, with a solid understanding of assembler registers and concepts.

Proficient with zos assembler, cobol, jcl & VSAM.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot assembler and cobol issues.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within defined timelines.

Experience of working in government or state projects is added advantage & nice to have.
